ASSISTANT KITCHEN MANAGER

Easy Tiger, one of Austin’s most beloved brands, is currently seeking an Hourly Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team. 

Our mission is to help our guests “Slow Down, Stay Awhile” by curating a dine in, take out and delivery experience that brings people together around the table to break bread and enjoy Easy Tiger wherever they are and however they wish. 

Our menu highlights our artisanal breads and pastries, baked fresh daily,  and paired with our house recipe smoked meats and sausages. We also feature a full bar that includes an impressive selection of craft beers - all meant to be enjoyed in our expansive outdoor beer gardens!

The Hourly Assistant Kitchen Manager position is responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager by effectively managing and assisting all areas of operations for the kitchen including personnel management, providing leadership, support, coaching and development to all kitchen team members. The hourly AKM position acts as a brand representative by consistently reinforcing the company goals, visions and mission statement while ensuring Easy Tiger’s standards of quality and service are accomplished. Additionally, the hourly AKM position is responsible assisting the KM with keeping the kitchen team fully informed of all matters of significance, including but not limited to; operational challenges, personnel matters and implementation of policies / procedures that could improve the overall operations / financials / guest experience. They are also responsible for creating/maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with all staff members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which is conducive to maximum staff morale, productivity and efficiencies.

SALARY / GRADE LEVEL:  Hourly / Non-Exempt
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Manages kitchen operations of venue, which includes daily decision-making, flexibility, staff support, scheduling if KM is out, assisting with inventory regulation, all safety and security standards including food handling requirements, upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness 
  • Maintains the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities 
  • Helps oversee training on new menu items, procurement and pars of product, staff tastings and updates all related materials used in daily operations 
  • Displays good judgment and effective decision-making abilities 
  • Ensures on-going staff development, including cross training and advanced positions as
  • performance is recognized 
  • Completes and posts kitchen schedule in a timely fashion if KM is away 
  • Maintain a presence with kitchen staff during operations. 
  • Assists with staff meetings when necessary, shift meetings every day and keeps staff informed on new developments and upcoming events 
  • Ensures all staff members adhere to the Company’s uniform standards  
  • Ensures a safe working and guest experience environment to reduce the risk of incident, injury and food handling related issues. 
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Two (2) years minimum as a high-volume Kitchen Lead experience with knowledge of kitchen and food operations
  • Local Health Cards (as required) 
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills 
  • Displays a professional appearance and is a positive role model 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Passion for the highest quality food standards and food safety practices 
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, driven and proficient at multitasking 
  • Holds self and others accountable to a consistent level of high performance standards

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
